Cape
Cod, often referred to simply as the Cape is a peninsula in the
eastern state of Massachusetts in the northeastern United
States. It is coextensive with Barnstable County. A number of
small islands off Cape Cod, including Monomoy Island, Isla
Monomoscoy, Popponesset Island and Seconsett the island are also
in Barnstable County, being part of the municipalities with land
in the Cape. The town of Cabo general beachfront attracts large
tourism during the summer months.
Cape Cod was formed as the terminal moraine of a glacier, which
is on a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean. In 1914, the In 1914,
the Cape Cod Canal was cut through the base of the peninsula or
isthmus. Is still identified as a peninsula by geographers, the
names do not change that field on the basis of the man building
the canal.
